Richard Waters (b. 1973) is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Eastern Kentucky University, where he directs the university’s three choral ensembles and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in conducting and choral literature. He previously served as Director of Choral Activities at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, where he received the DSU Foundation Prize for Excellence in Teaching in 2008. Choirs under his direction have toured nationally and internationally, and have been invited to perform at state and regional conferences of ACDA, including the 2010 ACDA Southern Division Conference in Memphis. Dr. Waters maintains an active schedule as a composer, clinician, and adjudicator. He holds degrees in music education and choral conducting from James Madison University, the Hartt School of Music, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
