Brian S. Story

Mr. Brian S. Story (b. 1955, Cleveland, OH) is currently director of bands at the Alternative School for Math & Science in Corning, NY. Mr. Story retired from public school teaching after 32 years during which he was director of bands at the Canandaigua City Schools and the Prattsburgh Central School.  His ensembles have received numerous awards and recognitions.  He received his B. S. in Music Education and his Masters of Music from Mansfield University in Mansfield Pa. where he studied both vocal and instrumental performance and has been honored as a MU Music Department Alumni of Distinction.  

 

 

Mr. Story is an active composer and performer as an instrumentalist and vocalist.  Mr. Story studied choral composition with Dr. Z. Randall Stroope.  He also has numerous published marching band and concert band compositions and arrangements under the pen name Brian Scott.  As a choral/vocal performer has been a member of Madrigalia (Rochester, NY) and Musica Spei (Rochester, NY), and founder of the Motet Singers (Corning, NY). As an instrumentalist, Mr. Story was the conductor of the Finger Lakes Concert Band (Canandaigua, NY).  He is a member of the New York State School Music Association, the National Association for Music Education, the New York State Band Director’s Association, and is a member of ASCAP.   He lives with his wife Amy – a very active choral director and educator.
